Christmas

Well this year Christmas was a lot different for me. Without my brother here things felt... different. I cannot think of a better place to have my brother at for Christmas this year. I am so grateful for him and for the fact that he is where he is. What better Christmas gift could you ask for? A brother who has chosen to follow the Lord and do what he asks. The other best Christmas gift? Being home. I absolutely love being home out of the snow and the cold. I never realized just how much I love home and St. George and just being around my family and friends that I've grown up with. But still I am even more grateful for one certain present. The ultimate gift given to us by Heavenly Father. The Savior Jesus Christ. Though this Christmas has been very different from every other Christmas of my life, I am glad that the main reason to celebrate remains the same. It isn't the gifts or Santa Claus, it's the Savior. I love Christmas!

Bathroom (a place of solace)

The bathroom.
It is a fantastic place!
Not only is it a place a relief and a spot for cleanliness,
It is also the one place in my apartment that you can go to to be alone.
Today I am thankful for the bathroom.

Change is Coming

Change.
I definitely say that it's bittersweet.
There has been quite a bit of change going on in my life lately.
Good and bad.
Some of the good hasn't exactly happened yet,
*cough Kristy cough*
but better be... will be... VERY soon.
The bad....
Shayla left.
Jessica will be.
Pretty much the apartment is dead.
Add finals week and we are basically walking zombies.
But.
WE GET TO GO HOME SOON!!!
Time for the bright and sunny St. George
and my family
and my friends from there that I miss!
I will most definitely miss my friends from here though.
Bittersweet.
Next semester is going be a big change too.
I might actually have to study!
CRAZY! I know...
I don't think there is any sweet in that,
just bitter.
Studying.
Bleh!
Speaking of studying....
I should probably start doing that sometime in the near future.

Day 30

Day 30- Your favorite song

The thing about the "What's your favorite song" question is this:
I am a musician and thus a music fanatic.
Asking my favorite song is like asking which of your children is your favorite,
It's unanswerable!
So.....
Currently there are two songs that I have been addicted to.
#1. On My Way - by Phil Collins. Firstly because,
It's Phil Collins.
Secondly because of the lyrics.
I feel like they fit my life right now and I love it!
#2. Silent Night - Since it's Christmas season now I've been hearing this song a lot
and for some reason it has had a huge impact on me this year.
My choir sang this song at an assisted living home with the seniors there
and it was a spiritual experience for me.
This may seem weird since it was the university choir,
but it's true nonetheless.
The words really touch me
and when I think about it, it really is an incredible thing!
The Savior of the Lord came to earth.
Born to the virgin Mary.
And that is where the Silent Night lyrics come in.
Amazing.

Day 29

Day 29- In this past month, what have you learned

Oh geez... Well I've been in college this past month so I have learned a lot in my classes. Most importantly is the music therapy stuff that I am learning because it is what I will be continuing. I love it still! I've also learned to listen to weatherman when he says there is a snow storm coming because 99% of the time, he isn't saying it as joke. I also learned that fog is really scary to drive in! I also learned that I have been truly blessed when it comes to the people in my life right now. They are so strong in the gospel and such great examples and are just the people I need around me right now. I learned (well more like was reminded) that Heavenly Father has his hand in my life at all times and that his plan for me may not match my plan for myself but that I should always trust in him.

Day 28

Day 28- A picture of you from last year and now, how have you changed since then?

Hmm... Well looks wise, my hair has completely changed.
I went from straight with bangs to curly curly without bangs.
Looks aside, I have still changed a lot since last year.
I have definitely grown up LOTS.
I moved out on my own and was therefore forced to grow up.
I think it's good though.
I've learned a lot more about myself and what I can handle.
My friends, school, education focus, and my overall view of life have changed a lot too.
Most of these things have come from moving as well.
I haven't changed my old friends, I have just made so many new ones
and have lost contact with most from home.
My school changed.
I was a SUCCESS Academy/Dixie State College/Dixie High School girl
and now I'm a Utah State University girl.
This is partly why my education focus has changed.
I'm no longer working on generals,
I'm working on my major now - Music Therapy.
My overall view of life has changed just in the sense that I've learned so much
and more knowledge/experience just changes views on things.
As much as I don't like change,
most of the time it's seems to be for the better.

Day 27

Day 27- why are you doing this 30 day challenge

Mostly I'm doing this thirty day challenge because I thought it looked fun and it would give me something to blog about. I'm not gonna lie though, I am kinda excited for my thirty days to be up soon. I would have stopped this a lot sooner but I know it would have bothered me for a very long time if I did. I'm the type of person who doesn't like to leave things unfinished. I would much rather suffer through it and have the feeling of accomplishment and completion at the end. But it has been a fun little challenge thing. It has made me think some and also let me post lots of pictures of my family, friends, and life.

Day 26

Day 26- What do you think about your friends

I think that my friends are absolutely amazing! Obviously I think they are pretty great or they wouldn't be my friends. I have some of THE best friends in the entire world. I made some great friends growing up in Diamond Valley. They all knew and shared in the greatness of "Drama Valley" with me. We had some great times and they are still some of my best friends to this day.
I also made some great friends in school. Both in high school and in SUCCESS Academy. Most of my high school friends have been with me since intermediate school and my SUCCESS Academy friends are like my other brothers and sisters. We all know each other so well and they are great!
I've also got all of my new friends here at Utah State! They too are amazing! I love all the memories we've already made together. They are like my second family too.
So basically all of my friends are great! I love them!

Day 25

Day 25- what I would find in your bag

In my backpack you'd find a bunch of pens, my red fuzzy scarf and gloves, my scriptures, and my sociology notebook. In my purse you would find my wallet, Carmex, gum, and old receipts. I don't really carry anything too exciting with me.
