Summertime

Well it's summer!!  Again, I've gotten very behind on blogging but I figured a little catching up is in order.
I made it through the last couple of weeks of school!  Think of about everything that can go wrong.  It did!  They were definitely the toughest weeks I had to deal with but thankfully I had some amazing people helping along the way.
After finishing up in good ol' Logan I moved back home for my first summer in St. George since I left for school the first.  My first goal upon arriving home was to get a job, of course.  Is that ever an easy task?  I think not.  So after weeks upon weeks of searching (and some awful timing) I finally landed a job as a nanny for two lovely kids.
Funny story.  So as expected, my first week at this nanny job, the stakes were high.  I wanted to impress the parents, make sure the kids liked me, etc. etc.  So Delaney and I are in the house getting ready to leave and in trots the cat.  She makes it in the house and on to the carpet and then she starts heaving...  First thought - Shoot, this cat is going to make a mess on the carpet.  Second thought - I will never own a cat.  During the few moments of the cat's pre-vomit, I mentally prepared myself for the upcoming hair ball/possible vomit clean-up.  Thankfully it was only a hair ball.  Preparing to clean up the mess, I looked down and the hair ball moved right before my eyes.  Yes ladies and gentlemen, the cat threw up a LIVE mouse.  It had indeed swallowed the little baby mouse whole and quite alive.  Fact about Dacy:  I absolutely cannot handle mice.  Needless to say, we had to call dad in from his office to handle the mouse.  Jackie (the cat) and I have not been the best of friends since this occasion.  Later on, in an attempt to redeem myself from the mouse incident, I did catch a live lizard that the cat, of course, brought in.
The summer job has been a lot of fun, despite the mouse and lizard hunting.
I've also been able to spend quite a bit of time this summer babysitting my favorite cousins.  One of the things I miss most about St. George while I'm at school is my boys.  Dax and I took a couple of goofy pictures on one occasion.
(I have no idea how to rotate these pictures....)

Along with working and babysitting, I've went to Fish Lake with my family for my Dad's birthday/his search and rescue conference.  I haven't been to Fish Lake in the summertime for quite a long time so it was a lot of fun!  I was able to travel to a friend's wedding and spend time with another friend in Provo.  I also got to spend a week with Amy while my parents were in Tennessee for the National Sheriff's Convention.  They had a lot of fun and Amy and I did for the most part too!  While they were in TN, there was an explosion at my parents' hotel.  Pretty crazy!  Youtube "Opryland hotel explosion" for an exciting look at that.
Well....  That's pretty much the update on life right now.  Loving my summer in St. George but looking forward to being back in Logan again.
(Shout out to my housing friends out there - When I got my list of FIGlets, I about burst with excitement.  Even more exciting though was that Gary also referred to them as FIGlets!)
