College Life - Take 3

Well here we are again.
I've missed a lot so here's a little update
1. The 80's dance was so much fun! And I made some new foreign friends!
2. Henry (my fish) is still alive!
3. I now have a pen pal. He's 6.
4. Music Therapy is basically the most incredible class EVER!
I know for a fact that it is what I am supposed to be doing!
5. I took a trip to Idaho two weekends ago and had a lot of fun with the family!
Slumber party out in the trailer with some of the kids.
And playing piano in Relief Society and Sacrament meeting.
6. Aerobics is slowing getting better.
I am gaining the ability to actually move after class.
7. Ice Skating is still a challenge but I love it!
I can tell that I am improving and it's a lot of fun
(even when I bruise my knees)
8. Hiking to the Wind Caves is a lot of fun.
And also extremely hard.
Especially after being tired and sore from aerobics.
But the company you go with makes a difference.
I love dates!
9. I am continually making new friends
And it is slowly beginning to feel like a second home
10. Dad came and visited me!
It was so great!
I miss him and the rest of my family so much!
11. I went to my first USU football game.
It was way fun!
I met some new friends there and ran into some old ones
(Michelle Murri from SUCCESS)
Oh and the kiss cam is pretty scary!
12. True Aggie Night = basically just a huge group of people
gathered together to watch each other kiss.
It was super crowded and not as exciting as I thought it would be.
13. I ran into an old friend from Diamond Valley, Arianna.
We were friends when we were like 5
then she moved.
And we met again here,
what a small world!
14. Door decorating contests are really fun!
So is splatter painting.
Basically my floor is the best and we have the best RA
15. My piano keyboard has become the source of a lot of new friends
and some great entertainment.
A lot of my floor is really musical and they like to stop by and play the piano.
Trevor and Charity even leave their music with me sometimes
It's like Christmas!
16. I have started up piano lessons again!
And it feels so good to finally have something to practice,
and a way to feel like I am improving again.
I know I couldn't go very long without playing piano.
I love it so much and it is such a part of who I am.
17. It felt weird to go to the General Relief Society meeting
instead of Young Womens.
I don't feel old enough to be there.
On another note
It was an extremely good conference and I am really glad I went!
President Monson's talk was my favorite!
He is so inspiring and fun to listen to.
I know he is a prophet of God.

Well that's pretty much life as of late. I know there aren't many details. I guess I just get so caught up in college life and I get busy. :)
I'll try to do better from here on out, but no promises.

College Life - Take 2

Well... I was reading reading my roommate's blog.
She is
amazing!
She actually writes about
every day here!
She has inspired me!

....I don't think I'm going to make everyday though.

So my roommate, Lauren - basically she is the most incredible girl ever!

She is so fun and crazy and a such a genuine friend.
I cannot even begin to explain how glad I am that she and I are rooming together.
I can talk to her all the time about any thing and she listens,
even when she doesn't really want to.

She is honest and tells me what is she is thinking too
and I love that!

I am so glad that she went through all the work that she
did to make sure that she and I were put together as roomies.
She is so gre
at!
I love her so much!
So the first week of school is FINALLY done for me.

It's only Thursday... I know.

Thankfully I don't have to go to my one class tomorrow.

HALLELUJAH!

It has been a good week
but it has been really
long.

I am absolutely in love with my Introduction to Music Therapy class!
On the first day of class, we didn't do any of the awkward introductions.
Guess what we did the entire class....
.......

............
We played conga drums and sang African sounding chants!

Sound crazy?

Well surprising it wasn't!

I will admit, I was a bit weirded out at first.
But it was so cool!
Everyone got their own instrument
(conga drums, shakers, a symbol, tambourine type drums)
and we all just played our own thing

We were
individuals playing and being ourselves,
and we sounded united as a group too.
If that's not a good way to start off college,
I don't know what is!

Sadly there was a tragedy in my family this week as well.
It happened on Monday at lunchtime.
My cousin Ryan was in a car accident
He broke almost every bone in his face and has had to have reconstruction surgery.
I was planning on going home to see him this weekend but that didn't work out.
He is doing better though,
or so I'm told.

Because of this accident I was a bit distracted and freaked out
I didn't want to go to my FHE that night
but I went anyways and I am so glad I did!
I met two girls named McKenna and Hope
They are ADORABLE!
They are from Cedar and that is close enough to St. George that we were instant pals.
Now we hang out all the time!
My roommate Lauren, them, and I are kinda a group now.
It feels great to have a group of friends!
Today we went to the D.I. and bought outfits for the 80's dance tomorrow
I am super excited!!
We are going to ROCK IT!

One last little update on my day today before I end this long post.
This morning I start my 7:30 AM Aerobics class
This morning we did kick boxing
It kicked my butt!!
I am so so so sore!
After that class I had a class in Old Main
Old Main = stairs
And then later today I had Ice Skating
I totally biffed it!
and hit my head on the ice....
Haha if you want the formula for a super sore and tired body,
that is it!
I feel so good about the workout though
Does that make any sense?
In pain but feel good.
Maybe I'm just crazy....
Probably!
